Mary Wells

Leading the charge for women in science & Engineering

Dr. Wells has over 18 years of experience as an educator, role model and mentor to students and faculty at the University of British Columbia (1996-2007) and more recently the University of Waterloo (2007 – present).  In the short time she has been at Waterloo, Dr. Wells has been appointed Associate Dean Outreach, appointed Chair of the Women in Engineering (WiE) committee, and has been instrumental in establishing WE-Connect, an umbrella organization that develops, promotes and coordinates all outreach activities offered through the Faculty of Engineering. In her roles as Associate Dean Outreach and WiE committee Chair, Dr. Wells has demonstrated a solid commitment to the improvement and expansion of existing women in science and engineering and outreach programs, as well as leadership in developing innovative new initiatives.
